Happy Fair Trade Day – May 10th and Mother’s Day – May 11th. Let’s wish our mothers well and thank them for their never ending support and at the same time be thankful for the privilege that we have living where we do. We have abundance of food, water and shelter isn’t in question.
There are many mother’s around the world today who are not as luck, let’s not forget them. Consider a donation to Opportunity International, a micro finance organisation who gives the working poor a working chance through small loans and financial services.
Let’s also support fair trade organisations whenever possible, think about what coffee you buy, clothing, home accessories, jewellery etc. Let’s give those in the developing world a fair price for their work and ensure they have good working conditions.
