If you are following my blog you’ll know that I am in California this week. On the weekend I happened to walk into a Tiffany & Co store. I was curious to see what was in store and also wanted to do a little comparison shopping to see the value of what we are offering at Pangea Collection. Take a look at a couple comparisons below. You may be more than a little surprised.

I am completely in favour of high quality design and crafted pieces, and agree that the pieces at Tiffany deliver on these qualities. If the blue box is really important to you, Tiffany is an option. If however you’d rather support Fair Trade and small artisan groups from around the world with your purchases, read on. These featured Pangea Collection pieces are carefully crafted with pride and quality materials (925 Sterling Silver) by artisans from Thailand and Taxco Mexico.

Okay so while Pangea Collection doesn’t have the branded blue box, we do send your order in a pretty burgundy box with pink Pangea Collection ribbon and there is no charge for shipping. You be the judge on the value.

Again there are design differences between these styles, the question is whether that warrants, the price difference and if you’d rather buy from the big guy or a smaller business.
