I don’t know about you but I find myself confused as to what season we’re in. Being in the fashion business, I have the opportunity to attend presentations on upcoming fashion trends and fashion weeks.
As you likely already know fashion weeks started with NYC and Canadian Fashion weeks are coming up in March (Toronto and Montreal) and April in Vancouver. The fashion lines being presented are for Fall/Winter 2008. In case you haven’t looked at a calendar lately we’re still in Fall/Winter 2007.
Go to any online or brick and mortar fashion store or pick up any fashion magazine and likely you’ll see all the new clothing, accessories and jewelry lines coming in for Spring/Summer 2008, it’s February and there’s still a whole lot of snow out here in the east!
So even if you can get your head around the fact that stores are bringing in the Spring/Summer fashions now in Jan/Feb (I too am promoting my spring/summer jewelry pieces at Pangea Collection). I attended a few weeks ago a forecast presentation for Spring/Summer 2009! That’s a year and a half ahead. Now to be fair it is intended for the designers who have to create, produce and then sell their products to stores. But for my brain, I’m getting a little confused about how to get dressed in the morning! So if you see me out on the street and I’m sporting a pair of riding style pants (which I’ve had in my closet since riding as a teenager), it just might be that I’m thinking of Spring/Summer 2009!
